Building Agent Skills Organically
Andre Oporto
Interested in building Agent Skills? The best advice I’ve seen is to start with your own repeated workflows and agent chats. That has also been my experience. Find prompts and tasks you use frequently, then streamline them using skills and plugins you build organically.
This is how I came up with the Finance Tutor skill after many chat sessions digging into finance topics. Instead of constantly saving the output of chat conversations, I created a skill to research the information I wanted and present and save it in formats I could use for both immediate learning and later reference.
With Claude, you can use the skill-creator skill to assist you. Use it to get started.
Build what you need and save valuable time. You’ll soon find yourself creating tools that help your organization and colleagues. And you’ll be prepared to build more complex AI Agent solutions that will surprise you with their capabilities. Just like coding, the only limit may be your imagination.
